Increases 2026 – Minimum wage and social benefits
Since January 1, 2026, several updates made during December 2025 have come into effect, ranging from the national minimum wage to social benefits. Thus:
▪ National Minimum wage:

▪ Social Support Index (IAS): set at €537.13 – with an impact, in particular, on the contributions of domestic workers earning the standard hourly wage – example below:
i. 2025 (IAS = € 522,50):
▪ 522,50×122080≈€ 3,01/h\frac
ii. 2026 (IAS = € 537,13):
▪ 537,13×122080≈€ 3,10/h\frac
▪ Pensions and social benefits: increases between 2.02% and 2.80%, depending on the bracket;
▪ Work accident pensions: 2.80% increase;
▪ Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (CSI in Portuguese): reference value set at €8,040.00.
These measures aim to strengthen the purchasing power of workers and pensioners and combat poverty among the elderly.
