On February 20, 2024, Ordinance No. 61/2024 was published, which regulated the electronic declaration of births occurring in Portuguese territory and abroad.
This regulation comes after the approval of Decree-Law no. 126/2023, of December 26, which enshrined in the Civil Registration Code the possibility for parents to make, electronically, the declaration of birth occurring in Portuguese territory.
